about us
Our Story
So after some thorough testing and research, we found people absolutely loved our offering at local food festivals. We went on to open a café at Sussex university, which was an instant hit.
And then along came the H van! Our first, named Lui, was bought in 2008. More of a project than we realised. We converted the van in summer breaks for a couple of years; it was ready in time for its launch, when we closed the café and focused our efforts on our four wheeled adventures.
The Vans
Our first dear Lui is a 1967 Citröen H van. First produced in 1947, the sardine can corrugation (derived from the Junkers airplane) made the flimsy metal more robust.
Lui was so much appreciated, that when another (1976 model) came along, I had to have it. And when it proved too difficult to keep the French number plates, we were offered UUI 8789. It seemed a good match for LUI 8785. And we realised we were now Creperie Oui!
And as of 2022 we’ve added a converted horse trailer to the growing fleet!
Oui Café Relaunch
We’re very happy to say we’re not done on the café front, and opened our Oui Café in 2023! For those who wished for our crêpes and galettes all week round, we listened! We’d love you to come and pay us a visit!
We’re at 30 Grand Parade, Brighton, East Sussex.
